OEC to EMT Course (New London, NH) @ New London Hospital

Apil 19-21, 26-28, May 3-5, 24, Fri. 5:00-10:00 pm, Sat/Sun. 8:30 am 5:30 pm

The OEC to EMT course was created specifically for Outdoor Emergency Care technicians and Ski Patrol Directors who want to expand their knowledge and skills both on and off the mountain.  This course recognizes the excellent trauma and rescue skills of the certified patroller and builds on that foundation by bridging the gaps between the OEC and National Standard EMT curriculum.  This first-of-its-kind course focuses on a deeper understanding of anatomy & physiology, pathophysiology,  medical emergencies,  urban rescue, ambulance operations, hazardous materials, mass-casualty incidents, triage, and much more. We have spread out the 80+ hours of course content over four weekends, creating a reasonable pace. This course includes take-home quizzes, clinical experiences, and online lessons, allowing the certified OEC Technician to become an EMT in about half the time and about a third of the usual course cost.

This course is designed to prepare students for the National Registry EMT cognitive and psychomotor exams for national certification. 80+ hrs., Sat/Sun, over four weekends.
