The Wilderness Emergency Medical Technician (WEMT) course is a comprehensive, evidence-based wilderness medicine course that prepares the student to manage injuries and illnesses far from help. The accelerated 3-week schedule allows students to be full-time learners, completing the 180+ hour curriculum with minimal interruption. Classes Monday through Saturday with 9 hours of blended hands-on and classroom time. Clinical experience is gained with 911 ride-along and emergency room rotations during evenings and weekends. Instruction is a dynamic combination of lecture, skill labs, scenarios, mock drills, team-building, and on-line study. The instructors have decades of experience in wilderness and expedition medicine. This course prepares the student for the National Registry exams and Nationally recognized certification.
